“I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me.”

Welcome! My name is Dr. Margaret Touny, PsyD and I am a licensed clinical psychologist that provides supportive and empowering individual therapy to adults.

I am glad you have made the choice to seek out a therapist to continue or begin your therapeutic journey.  Making the choice to enter into therapy requires courage, self-compassion, and a willingness to grow.

I view therapy as a journey of self-discovery that we will be embarking on together.  Research has demonstrated that at the core of effective, helpful, and “good” therapy is creating a collaborative relationship founded upon mutual respect, trust, and empathy.

Change in therapy occurs by increasing your self-awareness and exploring the choices you have to think, feel, and react differently.  I will invite you to be accountable for your choices and support you in feeling empowered to make different decisions in your life.

Depending on your goals and needs, I will use my clinical experience to help identify patterns in your life that may be holding you back and offer you different coping skills to help alleviate your pain.  I will also be supportive, validating, and use humor when necessary, as sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

I specialize in working adults experiencing self-esteem difficulties and struggling to feel “good enough,” family of origin/interpersonal conflict, generalized and social anxiety, depression, and struggles related to identity development.

I am passionate working with individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, women, immigrants, children of immigrants, first-generation Americans, and individuals with bi-cultural identities.  I also enjoy working with artists and other therapists, counselors, social workers, and psychologists.

I am honored to accompany you along your journey!
